Frack!

I'm so bummed the Wallabies lost tonight.  BUT I think New Zealand played so good they deserved to win.  Fraaaaaack!  Now everyone on facebook is talking trash and it's just irritating.  I hate losing.  I wasn't even playing, but I hate losing.  So disappointing...  Oh well, I can't wait for the super 15 to start up again.  It's fun to watch with my hubby.  Who are we going for this year?  The Reds?

So now the RWC final is between NZ and France.  Sorry honey, I have to cheer for the all blacks on this one.  I hope they smash France!

This morning as I was changing Nainoa's diaper, he looked up at my face and saw me smiling at him and then... he smiled back!  It's so amazing to see him growing and learning.  I know he sees me and feels my love for him and it makes him happy.  He makes me feel so special!

In other news, we bought Muslin blankets yesterday from Babies R Us.  They cost $22 and there are 3 in a pack.  40x40.  So far it's working fantastic.

I'm reading a book called Baby Wise.  It suggests a median between Attachment Parenting and the Cry It Out Parenting method called PDF (Parent Directed Feeding).  It's interesting but I'm looking for and open to other opinions and methods.  I'm going to test this one out for the next few weeks. We'll see how it goes.

Quality Family Time

Nainoa slept for 8 hours last night! I couldn't believe it. He was soooooo tired! Poor little guy, he didn't sleep all day. He had 4 short 30 minute naps and then would wake up and want to play and eat. So last night he knocked out. I woke him at 4:30 to feed him. My breasts were so full he only drank from one side and then fell back asleep. I had to let the other side drain a little into a diaper cloth while he ate. it helped a little but it wasn't enough. I woke up in the morning and felt like I had a rock on my chest. It was hilarious. I went into the living room and sat on the couch to feed him when I heard someone at my door. It was RENA! She came to visit me with her son Tane. It was so nice to see her and catch up with her. She is 36 weeks pregnant and it's supposed to be a girl! But she says sometimes the doctors are wrong, so she's not getting her hopes up. After Rena left Tim and I drove to Haleiwa for breakfast. Our new favorite place to eat is Cafe Haleiwa. It's right across of McDonald's in Haleiwa. They have really good omelettes and it's nice to eat somewhere other than Hukilau Cafe. (Even though I LOVE Hukilau) We met up with Gary (Tim's friend who used to be a Navy Seal, he's teaching gun training so Tim can do work as a stunt man) I've started calling Gary Tim's boyfriend because they always go surfing together, and text each other and I'm jealous. They had coffee together and I fed Nainoa in the car. I think I'm breastfeeding in that parking lot 3 times a week! I definitely did it 3 times this week. The security guard that stands outside Pantagonia recognizes us. Nainoa fell asleep right after I fed him. We dropped Tim off at Gary's place and drove to Babies R Us! I bought a new sheet for the pack n' play, sun shade for the car, muslin blankets to swaddle the baby in (the flannel ones are to hot for the daytime), bottles for the breast pump, nursing pads, and a yummy bottle of water. My little sweetheart slept the whole time and didn't wake up till I was back at Gary's house. I tried to feed him in the car but he didn't want it! He kept pushing me off. I think he doesn't like drinking coffee. Dang it! I'll have to quit. But several studies have proven that the caffeine doesn't have adverse effects on the baby. I guess he just doesn't like the taste. I'll have to cut it out of my diet. Sad face. Tim and Gary left to go surfing together and I sat outside Gary's house in the car feeding my son. We drove home and listened to children's tunes the whole way home. Nainoa fell asleep around Turtle Bay, but woke up as soon as we got home. We spoke with Meme on skype, baby fussed for a little and now he is sleeping peacefully like a little angel. We had such a good day today. Tomorrow Tim has to go back to work. It'll be just the two of us at home again. Here are some HILARIOUS pictures taken since the last blog update.

Hmmm... I don't really like it that much.  BUT I LOVE my baby's face.  He's so cute.  Little poser.  I have to try to get a shot of his "blue steel" face that he does.  This next picture isn't "blue steel."  Photo booth did a countdown... 3....... 2........ 1........

Hahahaha!  Just as the picture snapped he spewed.  I know some people (my mom) would give me a hard time for posting something like this BUT no worries mom.  My blog is private and only friends and close family can see what I post.  No shame!  

I babysat Kaihekoa the other morning.  He's such a little sweetheart.  We were playing around with the photo booth and took some skewed photos.

My Hungry Baby

I just wanted to post a video I took of Nainoa on the day he was born.  Poor little guy was hungry and so cute!

The Weekend

The days are flying by and our son is getting so big and HEAVY!  My wrists are really sore from holding his coconut head up while feeding.  Tim has been working with our family friend Bobby, doing construction.  He leaves home at 5:30 in the morning to get to work at 7.  On some days he doesn't get home until 6pm!  He stops to have a surf sometimes on his way home which makes me really happy.  He works so hard all day, it's good to know that he's able to relax and treat himself to something that he loves.  There are some days when I just want him to come straight home because I miss him, BUT I know he'll come home happier after having a surf.

Nainoa and I have started walking in the morning.  We went walking everyday this past week!  He loves being in his stroller but only if it we're moving at a quick pace.  We've walked to McDonald's 3 times this week to get coffee!  I'm happy to say that I resisted temptation and didn't buy anything else, JUST coffee. The breakfast menu is very tempting, but I'm trying to watch what I eat.

He really enjoys being outside.

We go to foodland after that to buy some groceries, and then we head back home.  On Wednesday I did WIC shopping, got my flu shot AND went to the post office.  It's nice to take care of little errands here and there without driving around.  I really like walking.  I might take it up a notch and start jogging.  BUT that means I'll have to get my morning coffee afterwards.  I know a lot of people say not to drink coffee while you're breastfeeding, but my doctor and all my books say one cup in a day is ok.

Getting ready on Saturday.  We don't have any hats yet that fit him!  He got this one from his aunty Heather.  It will be a while till it can fit him properly.  We need to find him a beach hat!

Yesterday was Saturday and we had such a busy day.  I was going to surf in the morning but instead we went and had breakfast in Haleiwa.  I ended up having a burrito from Cholos.  I love mexican food.  We had breakfast with Tim's friend Gary.  Then, I got to surf at Turtle Bay.  Tim sat near the pool and watched Nainoa.  He got really upset a few times and Tim tried to tell me to come in, but then he went back to sleep, and Tim waved to me telling me to stay out.  I caught a few waves, but didn't get up for to long.  It felt really nice to be in the water.  The surf instructors were really annoying.  They kept pushing their students on waves where someone was already on the wave.  I got cut off once, and almost got hit by a board of a student who would've cut me off, but then fell off.  So irritz!  I don't blame the students.  I blame the teachers.  I heard one of the instructors talking to his student about surf etiquette and then right after that he pushed the guy onto my wave! Frack!  I felt so good after surfing, and so thankful towards my hubby for being so sweet and giving me that time in the water.  He is the best!

Yesterday outside of Cholo's.  Nainoa Started to cry so I took him to the car to feed him. Then his daddy ate all of my Acaii bowl! 

After surfing we went home, I fed Nainoa and then we went to town to our friend's house.  He was having his house blessed and in the process he was gifted a Hawaiian name.  That was pretty interesting.   it was a really pretty really long Hawaiian name.  I liked the whole thing.  I'm getting ideas for future names for our children. lol.  I really want to learn to speak Hawaiian and get back into learning and sharing the culture, not just through dance, but music and teaching.

Tim and I ate at a really good burger place last night.  It's on Kapahulu by Safeway.  I think they serve the best burgers I've ever had at home.  Definitely try it out if you are around there!  So yummy! I had a chicken burger and Tim had a classic burger.  I had such a nice day yesterday.  It just felt so good to be with my sweetie pie pants and spend the whole day together as a family.

My nephew's birthday was on the 29th of September.  I told my sister I would make him a video since we didn't get to talk to him on his special day.  I finally found the time to do so, and I was so happy because Rissa's kids were at the house too!  So funny... Here's the link.
